    OKI ES8460mfp Error 928

Customer has an OKI ES8460mfp showing Error 928. Does it mean that the fuser unit should be replaced, or are there different possible reasons for this error code? If the fuser becomes replaced with a new one, how to reset the error code please?

    Hi,

    Try this.........
    Power off the Printer...
    Remove the Fuser unit ....
Rotate the gear of the fuser unit manualy......
    Power ON the machine .......
It will ask to install the fuser unit (fuser unit missing message on screen)....
    Install the fuser......

If still error occurred you have no choice but to replace the fuser unit

    Tnx.

Thanks, any reset to be done after reinstalling the fuser?

I can't say for certain on this one, but many other Oki's use a fusible link (low resistance fuse that blows when the new unit is inserted and power is turned on). Naturally, to figure out where that fusible link goes, you need to have a new (never used) fuser to ohm out at the connector.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
