Re: Epson Workforce WF - 7610 Error Code 0x97

Troubleshooting Methods for fix Error Code 0x97:

          1. Disconnect Everything from the Printer

Before you proceed, you need to cancel any print task and take out all paper jams from your printer. This method is relatively easy and may work for you, depending on the cause of the error. After removing all paper jams, disconnect every cable connected to the printer. They include USB cords, cable wires, and power cords, as well as ink cartridges.
into their respective slots. Push the Power button and turn on your printer then conduct a test print. Find out if there are any changes. If the Epson 0x97 persists or if it returned after a few pages of printing, proceed to troubleshoot method 2.
          2. Reset your Printer

Press and hold the Power button once more for 1 minute and then release. Conduct a test print to find out if there are any improvements. If the Epson printer error code 0x97 still lingers, then the last method may be the solution.
          3. Clean the Print Head

Step # 1. Remove each ink cartridge one by one from the printhead. Place the ink cartridges (in inverted position) on top of a clean paper or towel. Then, carefully remove the printhead from the printer.
            Step # 2
Step # 3. Soak the printhead in a bowl with warm water for 10 minutes. Do not use boiled water. Put a clean paper towel at the base and let the printhead rest above it while soaking. Take out the printhead from the bowl, and carefully wipe off any water and moisture using a dry lint-free cloth.
Step # 4. Place the printhead on top of a paper towel and allow it to air-dry for 15 minutes. Then, insert the printhead back into the carriage and reinstall all the cartridges into their respective slots. Turn on your printer and see if there are any changes.
          4. .

As a tech that repairs copiers, I can say that these are some of the best engineered copiers on the planet. Hands down. They are just greatly restricted by finishing options, price and software. Ill clarify on the software. the software is great, both visually and the way it functions. however I feel it just misses simple things that I've gotten used to with other copier brands, hopefully these will come down the road in firmware updates. The biggest missing feature software wise is the ability to report the meter to the dealer. We have a 17590 out right now that has roughly 170k prints on it. so far we have been out to wipe off the slit glass, deliver ink, and one call was for lines that was just a few clogged nozzles just ran a quick cleaning through the maint menu. and i was gone in 2 minutes honestly the customer can do this but since this is our only one out of that particular model I wanted to see it for myself to make sure it wasnt something larger. Normally with say a toner based color copier we would be replacing drums and or at least cleaning blades by now.

Customers that have tried them and given us feedback have all commented on how much better their scans look, and how they like the sound of the display when they touch it. We try to get more info on how the prints are and speed and they are like "oh that fine too" but i guess its the simple things lol.

we have 3 of the wf-c869r out. And have had no calls on 2 of the 3. however the 3rd was a bit of a special case as the customer runs some very abnormal paper and cardstock through the copier and so I cant hold it against the copier as much of the issues where customer induced such as tearing the paper for visual effect then trying to run it through the copier, and even folding the paper and trying to run it through.

one thing we struggled with even on the 75 page a minute mfp was slow print on pdf's. what we found was it had to do with the way the copier receives, renders, and prints the file. our fix for this was to just check confidential print (print and hold) through the driver. this way the copier would receive and fully render the file making it ready for print before the person can even see it in their folder. this way when they finally hit print the file would print out at normal fast speeds.

But again over all I went from absolutely hating inkjet copiers to only wanting to work with the epson ones after training on the new line of epsons. As they really dont require much, which as a salaried tech this is great! I get to be lazy.
so hope that helps a bit.

any other questions just let me know!

We have two 20590 out... And no problems with it.... Only the slow printing on (mostly) scanned pdfs issue..... It makes no difference if i scan a file from a ricoh or an epson... The machine prints it slowly in our case

With no hole punch feature try running pre punched paper and see what you get. I do have a fix that seems to work. It doesn't like odd size paper either, ie; Christmas Cards. I have 2 in the field and both customers hate them and are trying to get out of the lease. I have had 1 in the office for almost a year that I haven't been able to sell. Works good on plain bond but any type of coated paper is a waste of time and ink. I get complaints that even after printing on plain bond, and plenty of drying time that the ink will still smear if your hands are sweaty. The interlock switches on the doors seem to be problematic. My 1st machine failed out of the box. One customer complains of frequent jams but I haven't been able to duplicate. They seem to be a good idea but like I saw in another post Epson has not made it up to the table with what I would consider industry standard for a business copier. I have a lot of WiFi issues with all the Epson WF series dropping off, or the print jobs just disappear. The print driver media option names don't match the settings on the copier. For me they seem very time consuming to disassemble and the ink is a mess if aren't careful. Can't wait till a hose cracks from age. My honest opinion is I am having a hard time being a believer in the new Epson WF series.

I bought this printer but have no idea of what I bought:
        s-l1600.jpgs-l1600.jpg

        Description:
flat bed printer epson print head 8 1/2" w.Import printer based on Epson r230 printer.
These are brand new, still in shipping crates.

I was hoping this printer might print on small white chipboard boxes. I have been hoping for a UV printer but this says its piezo electric technology:
Epson Stylus Photo R230 driver and software Downloads

Can someone elaborate and help me understand this technology? The Epson is used to print on CDs/DVDs and is supposed to be very good from what I can read on google. This machine is a chinese knock off which I don't have a problem with. I prefer cheap ink just not understanding capabilities of this machine. If it can print on boxes relatively quickly this would be super awesome for me!

Its a brand new in crate flatbed printer from china using epson technology. Ink will be china off brand which I am not worried about. I love OLD ink technology. The issue is trying to figure out how fast piezo electric printers can print, especially early generations.

Alot of guessworks without a model number, spec sheet, etc....

If it's really based on a R230 then it looks kind of ancient but my dad owns a Designjet 500, that discontinued 2008 and does still a good job. Due to the heavy modification it's hard to predict anything - I guess you have to check it out after this "special edition" arrives

Re: Epson flat bed printer epson print head 8 1/2" w

Yeah I got it for $1 but need to pay for shipping. Its a new printer thats available on Alibaba. I am not familiar with piezo electric printers, is that similar to a thermal inkjet printer? The TIJ printer I have only uses black HP cartridges. I would like to print 4 color prints on boxes on a flatbed printer, just worried that this may take long time reading epson product info. I thought piezo electric was super fast.

I have DJ 800 and love it to death. Ink cartridges run $2 and I get thousands of prints.

Re: Epic Office Solutions sues Epson for $20M

I have seen one in operation and it had an issue of the K print head constantly clogging causing the client to have to do a print head cleaning numerous times chewing up ink. I wasn't impressed on the colours also as they were very light/washed out in comparison to a MFP or Laser printer.

Epson's Test methods, do they include nozzle cleaning?

We sell the plotters and have one inkjet MFP in service, unfortunately it's in my territory. No issues really, at first had to keep reminding them to clean the heads but ok now. I've had people complain about the ink usage on the plotters and how they always have to clean the heads. I have to remind them it IS an inkjet and that has to happen to maintain the quality.

              Friday February 2, 2024

Epson Moves to Dismiss Epic Office Solutions’
Lawsuit over Low Yield Ink Cartridge Claims.

Epson, a leading manufacturer of printers and ink cartridges, is facing a legal challenge from a printer dealer that claims the company lied about how much ink its printers use. Epic Office Solutions, a Florida-based company that sells and services printers, filed a lawsuit against Epson in January 2024, alleging that Epson misrepresented the ink yields of its EcoTank and WorkForce printers.

According to the complaint, Epic bought hundreds of Epson printers for its customers, relying on Epson’s representations that the printers would deliver high-quality prints with low ink consumption. However, Epic claims that the printers used much more ink than Epson advertised, resulting in higher costs and lower customer satisfaction. Epic also claims that Epson knew about the discrepancy between the actual and advertised ink yields but failed to disclose it or correct it.
Epic is seeking damages for fraud, negligence, and breach of contract, as well as an injunction to stop Epson from making false or misleading claims about its ink yields.

Epic also wants Epson to reimburse its customers for the excess ink they used.
Epson, however, denies any wrongdoing and has filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit.

Epson argues that Epic’s complaint is based on “unsupported allegations” and “fails to state a claim” for any of the causes of action. Epson also asserts that Epic’s damages are “speculative and uncertain” and that Epic has not shown that it relied on Epson’s representations when purchasing the printers.
The court has not yet ruled on Epson’s motion to dismiss. If the motion is denied, the case will proceed to discovery and trial. The outcome of the lawsuit could have implications for other printer dealers and consumers who use Epson products.
