check driver and also try print to the IP under ports in the driver not host name

Check the driver settings. Port tab, Configure Port, SNMP Status Enable check box. If checked, uncheck it.

Like Previous posts said, make sure you have the correct print driver!

Also, sometimes SNMP causes "offline" problems!...just go to your print driver settings and under the port configuration, turn off the SNMP function!

May also be an IP conflict.( another device or computer has "grabbed" the same IP as the Ricoh ) Unplug the Ricoh cat 5 connection and ping the IP address. If you get a response, there is a conflict.
If so, change the Ricoh IP ( suggest doing a ping test to confirm the new IP is open)

I had a similar situation at a county water agency. They had a new IT company. When we delivered new MFP, the IT people assigned an IP address for us to use. Occasionally printing would stop and they could not scan. Then it would start again. Usually by the time I got there it was working. Contacted IT and they said to use the next IP address in sequence and he would change the server. Worked for about 15 minutes. What we found was that there was a VPN connection setup on the router that the new IT people did not know about. The IP addresses that the new IT thought were good were actually part of the 5 address pool used by the VPN. Anytime someone from county data processing logged in to get information or update servers, they had a 1 in 5 chance of landing on the address the MFP was using.

I'm going to remember this story next time I am on the phone with IT and they tell me there is 'no possible way' there could be an IP address conflict. Last time they told me that, someone was walking to the building with a cellphone that for some reason was set to a static IP the same as the copier. Whenever I got there, the person had left already.

Besides the driver I would have also guessed the IP being taken by another device. Usually we set the machine to static and use a high up IP like .175 or somewhere between 150-200 which lowers the chance of anything taking the ip since DHCP usually starts with the lowest range.

It's always best to use a static IP address on the copier.

If it's set for DHCP, and gets rebooted, it may or may not get the same address next time, especially if the DHCP lease time is short.

Not likely, but something else to consider.

One of the IP schemes that I use when setting up a network customer is as follows:
                        1. 001-019 for servers, routers and gateways.
                        2. 020-049 for high priority users who need to continue to have access to servers and printers when DHCP is down.
                        3. 050-099 for printers.
                        4. DHCP allocation starting at 100.

Yeah....It's ALWAYS nice when IP addresses stomp all over each other!!!...If I am doing static, I like to make it high....usually 100+ so it doesn't interfere with the DHCP in the lower range!

                          *Usually* keeps everyone happy!

PS--my home router is a Netgear and it starts assigning DHCP in the lower ranges...I haven't experienced any problems *YET*!.....and if I do, it's usually Comcast!...LOL!

I have seen some routers that start at 101.

My old Linksys home wireless router (about 6 years old, and recently croaked) started assigning addresses at .101.

The Netgear I replaced it with a few months ago starts with .1.
