    MP C4503 Ethernet Not Working

    Hello ladies and gents,

So We received in two used copiers, one 4503 and one 5503. I have just tried to install the 4503 and discovered the ethernet port may be dead. The 5503 had an ethernet card I pulled out and installed in the 4503. But after I made sure the ethernet and usb were enabled in SP mode, ip address was set correct I cannot ping anything nor get to the copier in web access. We have about 10 other copiers that do work in the building. I tried hooking up the 5503 as well and it didnt want to reach anything on the network as well.

Thoughts? Is there some hidden setting in SP mode that I am missing?

Do you get any lights on the NIC when the cable is plugged in? Do an NCS memory clear in SP modes, SP 5801 something. That will reset all network settings to default. Don't do a 5801-001. Also, check User Tools / System Settings / Interface Settings / IEEE80211.x Authentication for Ethernet isn't disabled.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Yes I do get connection lights, and 802.1x Auth. needs to be on for any communication?

No. Needs to be off. If it is on, the MFP assumes that there is a Ricoh wireless installed and turns the CAT 5 jack off.

If you connect your laptop directly to the MFP and set a compatible IP address, can you ping it from the laptop?

          Hi

Also check that your access control ranges are blank, else the nic will not work if your device ip is not in the access control range.

Also make sure someone has not disabled DIPRINT.

People / I.T love to mess around in the WIM, and it can cause problems IF they don't know what they are doing.
