    Ricoh Network Twain Scan

Does anyone know what ports network twain scanning uses? I am trying to scan with an Ricoh Aficio MP 301 and I get the message the Firewall is blocking the scan. Help is much appreciated.

Also make sure the software you are using is allowed through the firewall.

If I remember correctly, TCP port 3670 was for GlobalScan.

I think TWAIN scanning uses TCP port 1022.

The TWAIN driver returns an error "36851: No response from the scanner" or "12320: Cannot find the scanner". Why is this happenning?

The TWAIN driver might return the error "Cannot find the scanner" or "No response from the scanner" if Windows Firewall is enabled.

The connection between the TWAIN and the device is established by the TWAIN soliciting MFP to initiate a connection (usually on port 1022). The device tries to connect but is blocked by Windows Firewall.
Note: In fact other types of firewall/security scanners might cause a similar problem.

To correct this issue, perform the following.
            - Add a Firewall exception for the application that is using TWAIN
            - Open TCP 1022
For details how to add a port exception in Windows Firewall, please visit the following
Microsoft Support page (specifically the "Adding the port exception" section).

            - Turn off the firewall/security scanner that is blocking the MFP's connection attempt.
