[Misc] Ricoh MP 2554 won't connect to a Windows 10 Pc for Scan to Folder

I have a Ricoh MP 2554 that won't connect to a couple of fresh updates to Windows 10 when I try to scan to folder.
I have several Windows 10 Pc's that are working OK, they scan to folder without any problems.

I'm getting the following message when I "browse the network" to try and connect to these W10 Pc's:
"Connection with the destination has failed. Check the settings."

I have double, triple checked the settings; I've compared them with other Windows 10 machines that are connecting just fine.

We're running Windows 10 ver 1709 16299.125. I have others running the same version working ok.

I thought it was because these two specific Pc's had problems because I wiped the HDD back to factory (Windows 7 pro 64 bit) then upgraded to Windows 10 pro 64 bit fresh after all W7 updates.
But I just tried a third Pc which was wiped to factory W7 / upgraded to W10 and I can browse the network to this Pc just fine and I scanned a document to it just fine.

Does anyone have any ideas or hints as to what I need to do or try to get these to work for scan to folder?

The problem is the Windows update. VGA posted a couple of bulletins to another thread that should help. Aificio MP C5000 - Scanning and Firmware Problem

Does anybody have the specific Windows 10 ver number that's causing the problem?

I have several Windows 10 Pc's that can 'Scan to folder' just fine. They appear to have the same ver number as those that can't 'scan to folder'. 1709 / 16299.125
I'm still checking more Win10 Pc's for their ver numbers and scanning capabilities.

      Thanks for the information.

It is a specific Windows update not Windows version. Now read the damned thread I shared a link to. It contains a link to a RTB that gives you all the information that you need.

Updating the copier fw resolves this issue, the network fw is the usual curprip.

After updating the fw you then have the option to use SMB v2/3

slimslob, who rained on your parade today?

Sorry I came to copytechnet to ask a couple of questions!

Obviously this isn't the place to get friendly advise.

              I have the following:
              System : 1.12
              NIB : 14.31
              Web Image Monitor : 1.05
Do I just need the updated System FW?

It is good practice to update ALL fw files.
Personally I first update using the package file then any remaining modules.

                  Thank you Copier Tech,
I assume you must be a Ricoh Tech to get the FW updates?
I am the Co's support tech and I don't have a logon or access to get the FW updates unless the link provide in the link slimslob provided doesn't work.

Also, should I assume because I have multiple Windows 10 Pc working ok (scanning to folders) at this time, they will fall prey to the MS update sooner or later?

I'm just trying to understand why just the two Pc's are malfunctioning for scan to folder and not the others.
I've also noticed a lot of the bulletins and possible work arounds are for Windows 8.1 and earlier.

As mentioned you can uninstall the win update that is causing the issue then stop it reinstalling in the future. However these are “security” updates & if you are not the IT admin you shouldnt really get involved in MS issues.

If you add the @remote option you’ll be able to download/instal the firmware via service mode.
