Re: smart operation panel V2
The WiFi option for the GW controller is an inadequate, over priced POS. You should be able to get a WiFi range extender such as Netgear WN3000RP for under $50. If you additional Ethernet connections near the MFP, you can add a work group switch. -
Re: smart operation panel V2
There was a confusion between the wifi option on a MP C2504EXsp. On the sales guide it is stated that the wifi is standard so the customer is asking if he can use the wifi from android system to print. Could you please enlighten me with this. Thanks in advance.Comment

Re: smart operation panel V2
The wi-fi for the android panel is only for the panel. You are not able to use it to print. (i know this from experience)
You will need either the wi-fi option from ricoh (yes, it is a POS) or an external wi-fi device like mr, slimslob suggestedComment

Re: smart operation panel V2
Printing through the SOP is primarily for use from a mobile device. The WiFi that is internal to the SOP is, like the Bluetooth, very short range. You need to be standing right next to the MFP in order to use it. The best way to consistently print from a mobile device is to connect to the WiFi on the local network. Use whatever is the current Ricoh APP to connect and print.Comment

Re: smart operation panel V2
Yes you can print to the device using the inbuilt wifi in the SOP i've set a few up like this without any issues, range hasn't been an issue for me however with no external aerial it wont be as good as the option card that goes in the machine.Let us eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we may die!

Re: smart operation panel V2
are there any settings needed for sop wifi printing configuration?Comment

Re: smart operation panel V2
Yes, by default the SOP wifi is off, simply turn it on, then it will search all WIFI devices in range, choose your router then enter the WAP ket etc & it will connect. Then simply install it as you would if connected via LAN.
User tools, screen features, turn on wifi, interface settings & choose wifi connection.

Re: smart operation panel V2
Nope you can not scan only print, the scan app will only send via the LAN (unless you fit the optional wifi kit)Let us eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we may die!
