Someone gave me an Aficio MP C400SR that had Paper Cut installed.

If you can browse the device from WIM, uninstall the app from extended feature settings. Set the Function Priority to Home/Copier.
If not then restart the device. While loading the Java TM, press the user tools button then select extended feature settings and uninstall the embedded.
    Aye! Cut the crap

Also doesn't hurt to make sure this is also off.

If it works, don't touch it.

What really helps is to have the installation instructions for Paper Cut and reverse all changes made to install.

Had to do the following on a Ricoh machine recently after improperly disabling PaperCut. In my case we were getting a SC637-1 code.

Check User Tools > System Settings:
                    1. User Authentication Management > set to "OFF"
                    2. Machine action when limit is reached > set to "Allow Continue Use"
                    3. Enhanced Print Volume Use Limitation > Tracking Permission & Stop Printing > set to "OFF"
                    4. Auto Delete User in Address Book > set to "OFF"
                    5. SP-5-401-230 > set to Initial (00H)
