    Ricoh MP 3352 firmware update

    Greetings to all,

I have a Ricoh MP 3352 device and I want to update the firmware.
I try it through a web browser and it gives me an error message.
I also tried using the Ricoh Firmware Tool, but after finding the device via IP address, in the field (Need update) there is a message (Cannot update firmware because it contains a customer module), and it does not allow updating the firmware.
I need to update the firmware because I need to set up scan to mail for a user who needs the device to have SMB v2 protocol.

Is there any solution to this problem.
    Thanks.
    B.R.

Can you printout SP 5990-005 Diagnostic Report and post it. We can see from it what module(s) is not standard. That will have to be replaced first, probably using SD card firmware module first.

Agree with Tim. You will need to replace the 'Custom' Module with the regular version before you'll be able to update the firmware either with the Tool or the package version.
You'll need a properly formatted SD card with the individual modules - and some insight on the process.

If the device is still on the factory firmware you may need to first update using an SD card. After that you will then be able to use the tool.

The reason I want to update the firmware is that the device supports SMB v2 protocol. Which firmware should I update??

            SMB v2/v3 requires:

            System/Copy v1.13 (D1205530K)
            Network Support v10.70 (D1205544F)
            Web Support v1.04 (D1205539D)
            Scanner v01.04 (D1205538D)
