    Print Error 95 - Ricoh MP C3004

So I'll admit I'm pretty lost with this machine and didn't do the best with keeping track of my order of operations.

This machine died, 672-00, I ordered a new controller board, replaced it. Now it will only print from a Mac or Iphone. Anytime I print from Windows it says 95 error under the printer application and spits out hundres of pages worth of symbols.

I'm thinking maybe they shipped me a "ex" model controller because it shows up on my iphone as an 3004ex now, which it isn't. I wouln't think that woul let me put the controller board on to begin with if that was the case.

Anyways, I did 3004dx romdata firmware (not sure now if i need to do non-ex or ex firmware, new HDD, 5-801-7through11

I'm about to call it scrap...any thoughts before I pull the plug?

When attempting to print from Windows what driver and port are you using. The pages of garbage says WRONG driver or print language. Command codes are being interpreted as print data. Used to be very common when laser printers first came out and people would try to print to a laser with a dot matrix driver or visa versa. Check WIM and see if any printer languages like possibly PCL are disabled. Try using the copy command to send a pdf to the printer, If that works then either pdf direct or the full Postcript language are functioning. That is why iot will print from a Mac and an iPhone.

Yes sir I agree... every time I have a customer tell me their copier is printing weird symbols I head straight to their driver.

I am using PCL6 and standard tcp/IP port of the machines IPv4 address. The way I always setup Windows.

Yes, I noticed something on the print application that is not on the other machines. Something about emulation. The only options are PS3, PDF, and two other ones (one starts with an R, not currently in front of it at the moment).

Also, when I go to printer features, the bottom half of the normal options are greyed out. So yes, maybe PCL is turned off. How would I go about fixing that?

One way is to download and install the Windows PS3 driver. Being retired and with no C3004 to WIM into a, I can't tell you exactly where in WIM to go but I will say that you have to be logged in as the correct administrator, there are 4, 5 if you count supervisor. Each one can be assigned what areas of WIM and User Tools they can modify. THe others can only view. Also network security level can affect what you can modify. Something modified at a higher security level than the current can only be viewed at the current level. Very often a problem with government return from lease machines.

I doubt you received the wrong controller board, an SC error would have appeared, you can change the name in SP mode
