Ricoh SP C252SF will not completely print in landscape

Hello, the 252SF prints and copies in portrait just fine, but when trying to print in Word or Excel it prints about 8 1/2 inches down the page and then the rest is blank.
I have tried the PCL6 as well as the Universal Drivers. Even tried the 242SF Driver just to see if it is the driver. Check all settings on the printer. Noting seems out of the ordinary. I would not think there would be a setting to do this on purpose anyway. It's like it is not rotating the image. Any ideas?

First off Portrait and Landscape have to do with how a picture is hung on the wall. The proper terms for digital multi function copiers are SEF, Short Edge Feed, and LED, Long Edge Feed. If the orientation you have formatted the document for does not match the orientation of the paper tray you have defaulted to, Auto Continue is ON in the C252 settings and Auto Rotate is OFF, your problem can occur.

Universal Drivers and V4 drivers have very specific requirements for use. If you don't have a custom software that requires them, DO NOT use them. Looking at the driver page for the C252SF it does not have a V4 driver and the Universal driver enables users to use various printing devices in printer pooling. The availability of functions will vary by connected printer model.

I see your point. The document is landscape. You may know the way the 252SF feeds is short edge first. It cannot print long edge first, So it needs to rotate the image. It is not doing that. And there is no way to turn on or off rotate that I can find. So it prints 2/3 the way across the page and then just stops, there is no other printing past that point. It is so strange. I have never seen this before. Any other advice appreciated.

Settings for Auto Rotate and Auto Continue should be somewhere in User Tools. Not having a machine in front of me I can't tell you exactly where.

I'll go back and look again. May not have looked in User Tools. I did look at WIM and there was nothing there I could find. Thanks.

i dont remember well that specific model, but try to check if exist in user tools>printer settings>pcl6 menu>orientation=[vertical/orizontal]
or in case of pdf auto-detect orientation=enable

Hello again. I was never able to find a solution to this problem although I tried the suggestions here.
I am now trying to print landscape to an entirely different machine, the SP C242SF and it will not print landscape either.
I have searched every setting on the machine and in WIM. There is no auto-rotate selection, and nothing about the margins is different.
I am starting to think these models cannot print landscape.
Does anyone have one that they could test?
This has been a nightmare time-wise!

Ok, I found out that the Windows Universal Print Driver does work. So Ricoh needs to fix their Windows 10 and 11 drivers!

If you used the pcl driver for that machine instead of the universal one you would not have had the problem. Do not use universal drivers.

I just checked the Ricoh-USA support page and the PCL6 driver is no longer supported as of 1st October 2024. The PCL5 as of 1st February 2024. The PCL6 Driver for Universal Print is the only driver still supported. Its size is due to the fact that it contains information to support every Color and B/W Ricoh has made in the last 18 or more years. Basically anything with a GW controller.

Thank you slimslob, this is helpful. I wasted a couple of hours finding the solution for this issue. I always went with the Ricoh PCL6 regular driver before. on this. And you are correct, it is the Ricoh-USA website's Ricoh PCL6 Driver for Universal Print that worked, not the automatic windows driver that pops up without asking sometimes.
