Re: Ricoh MPC 307 SC 672-00

    Hi there
I have an SC 672-00 code on a Ricoh MPC 307.

This code does not even appear in the manual, but from experience I know that it comes from the controller card (it must be the 4th or 5th machine which displays this code...).
This is the only solution for the moment but given the price of a controller, I would like to find out where the problem comes from more precisely (component out of order, Firmware problem??) or if there is a miracle manipulation to make.

Do you have an idea ??

    Thanks in advance
    "Enjoy every sandwich."

Re: Ricoh MPC 307 SC 672-00

      monsieur bonjour.

Here it is written in English. That is the red one that I have
      disconnect the drive.

It has also worked for me with the firmare update for similar cases.
Turn on the machine with numeral and asterisk and let it complete the process.

      reconnect connectors.

      ram socket cleaning

Read the manual, it has served me.
      Goodbye

      Salut.

Hello and thanks you for you reply,

        - "That is the red one that I have disconnect the drive." Do you speak of the Sata Cable of the HDD ?
        - "Turn on the machine with numeral and asterisk and let it complete the process." : Witch numeral ? (I remember It was dot + Asterisk, didnt it?)
        - "ram socket cleaning" : RAM is unfortunately Welded on the board.

This code is not in the manual, its start with SC672-00 it seems to me.

        Goodbye

no my friend, I am committing nonsense, I was thinking about the mp c305, I am included.

physical suggestions such as disconnecting other elements such as disk, fax etc can help and especially the firmware update

              Hello,

I hope to find the same manipulation (* + #) as the MPC 305 in the MPC 307... Because the screen on the MPC 307 is a tablet and havent key...

No my dear, in those there is no such way.

Have you already updated the firmware? Now, on other machines where they have had similar problems and nothing has worked,

I try to trick or distract the machine by creating another problem, for example, I disconnect something in the fuser so that it gives me some error like sc 544 for example

. Now I turn on the machine and it detects another problem (sc544) other than sc 670,672 enter clear errors ...7807 ..etc

I correct the error created. I put a fuse or two cables to fool the system... 5810002 execute...

I do the process and start the machine again... Based on the differences between models, you will already be accommodating to yours according to the manual. It has worked for me but I don't know if it will be useful to you, I hope so.

I think it's controller board time.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                        Hit it.

yup.. wouldn't be the first one

If that's a maintanance contract machine you can go with a 2nd hand PCB from a returner if available (just swap the eeproms) otherwise this might end up as a write-off.

Yes I know, it's my work , but I just try to find an other solution that change the PCB... Maybe it's just a firmware problem and we throw the PCB whitch cost a lot...

That's not unlikely - it's pretty likely that the software is corrupted - unfortunately reflashing the fw requires a certain level of functionality. I like the old days when the machine had a system SD card you could replace or fix with the data from another machine. Now the data is stored on some sort of "onboard" flash memory - once bricked it's probably hard to restore without any special tools.

I tried messing around with the NV rams once with no success - probably because they aren't the issue.
