    IM C300 SP Mode

Hello!! I have an almost new Ricoh IM C300 with error code SC 860-01
Ive seen on the internet that formatting the HDD can fix it, but this is done in SP Mode (service mode)
Can you please tell me how to enter SP Mode?

    Thank you!!

A quick search will give you your answer, but the procedure is not meant to be publicly available...so I will not be able to give to you. Good luck though.

Ive found the procedure on the service manual (which is in a public site btw) but it says to ask my supervisor for the "key code".. Ive found a keycode which is 806182 on google. Is this correct? can you digitally nod or wink if its correct or something? lol

Nope...I just can't have any part of what might happen if you use that particular "code"...

It won't hurt to try the code you found. The biggest problem with any SP mode access code you may find searching the internet it that the code can be changed by the installing dealer to prevent unauthorized people from searching the internet.

I would suggest that you search the internet for the service manual. I just downloaded one free from ManualsLib.

So you need to ask the service manager of the original selling dealership.

The call your dealer to come out and fix it under warranty.
if it's out of warranty...call them anyway to fi it!
It's insulting to trained techs (me anyway), for an end user to think "all I need is a few sentences of instruction and I can do this" .

I've been a Xerox field technician for 7 years until the pandemic got me suspended for 2 years and then fired. Now I manage a Ricoh fleet for a company which deals with Ricoh itself directly. There is no dealership which sucks. Ricoh is very slow in providing service and my company needs the printers running 24/7 to operate normally. I'm trying to keep my job and of course I would prefer to still be fixing and dealing with Xerox printers like I've always done. Thanks for your (lack) of help anyway, I'll ask somewhere else.

And that company has not sent you to Ricoh training course? Even Copier Basics would provide you with the SP mode access code as you would need it in order to complete about half of the service labs. But apparently you would rather be working on the notorious Brand X even though you have already found out the hard way how they treat their employees.

I work for a logistics company and we are CUSTOMERS of Ricoh. Why would Ricoh train me? I have a background in printing as a technician and administrator and thats why im in charge of the printer fleet. Your life must really suck to treat people this way.
