I am dealing with an MP C 6004ex that is in a Mac rich environment and is giving a PDL error when printing from one of these computers. I have never experienced this error before and the manual gives very little information about it. I have updated firmware and it happened again. I think this is a Mac issue, but have no clue how to correct this problem. Anyone have knowledge of a fix? Thanks in advance.

Re: PDL error occurred: print job is cancelled
Is the error on the C6004 or on the Mac? Either way it could be that the offending Mac either has a different OS version that the others or has a different compilation of the PDL.
What version of Mac OS are you using? Ricoh's drivers for Mac are to some extent based on the version of the OS. Prior to Yosemite is no longer supported. For Yosemite and El Capitan the only thing available is a Pantone color palettte. From Sierra on the is a PPD, Postscript Descriptor file.
What type of application are you using that requires the use of Perl are you using? PDL is Perl Data Language which is an open source language for Scientific computing, similar to IDL and MatLab.
All in all you may need someone experienced in creating and editing PDL files.

something else you might try. if the customer is trying to print directly from the internet. have them first save the file to the Mac. go to the location the file is saved, open it, then print it.👍 1Comment
