The MP C307 was a good sold machine but If you are buying it new I would go for the IM C300 purely because it's a current model.

If however you are getting it 2nd had choose the one with the lowest print count or if either have had drums / fuser or transfer belt recently replaced.

They are basically the same machine, but as usual the drums etc are different.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

MPC306 looks the same then MPC307 and is good "built -wise"
but has an older controller, and some lack of features.

Firmware support is probably already or soonish discontinued.
I think it has been released in late 2015 so it's up to 8 years old.

I would avoid this model unless you can make a bargain.

            Thanks.

            I'll stay on the 307.
But the one I plan to buy already has 45,000 color pages, which implies a change of drums in 15,000 pages, for personal use this expense is enormous.
L Can the lifespan be extended or is it blocking?! Does the printer stop working?

Nah, the drums usually last waaaaaaaaaaaay past their design life. I've seen some black's on 150k before they need replacing. MPC307 is a good box as long as you don't beat it up.

By default the printer does not stop. The page counter is one thing, the age of the units is another thing.
So don't expect a 4-5years old unit to keep up another 4-5 years just because it's counter is below the expected yield.

I think the yields for the color PCUs are actually just 36k and black is 60k.

I would ask the seller for a scan of the PM counter list and hope nothing has been resettet in the past.

It won't stop and won't really warn you either. As long as you are fine with vertical lines then you can run them for a long time.
According to the manual it is due after 60k pages but as with a lot of spare parts this can be higher or lower. In my personal field experience the 307 matches the manual pretty well.
Make doubly sure the color PCDUs have been replaced or you are likely looking at replacing those within a short while of purchase. In my experience the color ones have been particularly weak.

                    I have a pile of 307's and IMC 300-400.

The yields according to the manual are the same for the PCDU's, but in my experience, it has been the 300-400's that barely make yield. Color easily goes for 80-90K and black will get to 100-110k depending on how fussy you are with print quality for a 307.

As others have mentioned, age absolutely plays a role in how long things go as well.

I would not touch a 306 at all. It wasn't a good machine.

Finally, it also matters what toner you use in it. For color machines, use Ricoh toner and it will last far longer than trying to use 3rd party toner. Any customers that I ever had that tried to use 3rd party color toner wound up paying far more in terms of early part/PCDU failures than they ever saved in the difference in toner prices.

Thank you for these details which reassure me in my purchase. It is a particular use so it is not used much.

And I only use original consumables, the advantage of Ricoh is that you can find a lot of them at attractive prices on the internet, no point in buying generic ones.
I have already tried it in the past on other printers and it was a disaster.

Go for an IM C300, it is packed with ACT. You can update the firmware by yourself
