[CQ] SP C840DN banding in feed direction

I have a C840DN that has a magenta banding issue, meter is 4 k c8,800 replaced the magenta pcdu and still has the problem. Service call is 600 miles round trip, so hoping to some idea on what to bring. I'm thinking a laser unit, IPU or CB power pack. the size is 12x18 and banding is front to back paper feed direction.

Looks like a yellow banding issue?

You say you replaced the pcdu but what do you mean by that? Did you replace just the Drum unit (PCU)? Was it brand new Genuine Ricoh from Ricoh? Did you replace the developer with genuine Ricoh? Those voids look like toner clumps clogging the doctor blade gap. Are you using after market toner?

New ricoh drum/development unit assembly we only use oem toner. based on the low meter I might look into your clumping theory...

FYI, OEM and Genuine Ricoh are not the same. Which do you use.

Have you tried inserting the blue stick into the holes under the pcdu M several times??

Yup that's DV cloggage and/or a dirty laser glass @magenta.

If the lines appear at the same postition after swapping the complete PCDU that was quite an expensive way to figure out that this is a dirty laser

If the lines are moving around or re-appeared short time after swapping the complete PCDU you might deal with clogged toner from the toner bottle, I've seen this every now and then, probably a result of improper storage conditions - usually afer exposing spare toners in direct sun light at the window sill. In this case you have to vac out everything as good as possible, swap the toner, run ~100 high coverage magenta pages and finally swap the dev unit or PCDU again.
