to be honest, if you don't already have a service manual. you should call a trained tech for this copier. this model is one step below the production model. that error points to an issue that isn't a quick simple fix. the firmware has been updated?

Best case scenario is bad hard drive. Try disconnecting the hard drive and boot up the machine. If it comes up ready, then probably bad hard drive.

Next, Reseat or replace USB cable from SOP to BCU D2585747

If still a problem, Replace Controller.

SC 672-00 does not exist for the C6503. There is Sc 672-10, -11, -12, -13 and -99. There is also a 670-00. What code are you actually getting? If it is 672-00 you have either corrupted firmware, a bad NVRam or a blown controller board.

SC 672-00 does not exist for the C6503. There is Sc 672-10, -11, -12, -13 and -99. There is also a 670-00. What code are you actually getting? If it is 672-00 you have either corrupted firmware, a bad NVRam or a blown controller board.

SC 672 for MP C6503 does exist, it refers to Controller start up error. I have seen this on MP C5560, MP C8002 and Pro C5100. Cause of the problem can be a bad connection of controller board, HDD malfunction or Operation panel connector lose or broken.

bat hit the nail on the head. this end user, with this issue, needs to call in a trained tech. according to the error in the service manual the things that could be causing the problem, joe blow shouldn't be trying to fix this. though of course, we all know joe blow shouldn't work on any copier. unless of course you don't mind having a rather large paper weight taking up a good bit of space. good luck, i don't believe it will be a simple fix.

In 80% of the SC 672 cases you have to replace the Controller. Ricoh suggests activating ARFU to prevent this.

Hello.

Soes anybody know what SC672-00 is trying to say to me, other than “you’re screwed”?
The machine goes immediately into this status when powered on.
Any feedback at all on this would be appreciated very much.

Also, I wanted to see if anybody has a service manual they could share with me for this thing?

maybe i am snakebit but i have never had a 672 code be the HDD..most times the controller like posted b4...
If you can try to find a used board,maybe even post here

it happens every now and then, last Friday mp9002 sc672 replaced hdd.
a month ago mpc2503 sc672 replaced hdd, and others that I don't remember, a good way to understand it is the speed of access to WIM, which is noticeably slow with the disk about to permanently fail

i usually find wth 672 machine home screen just lags and never loads and after 4-6 minutes 672.on earlier models mpc3501,mpc3300 i dont recall ever getting that code...

you can notate bad hhd when you load the address book in wim, that load very slow, anyway a bit time ago , sc672 by bad hdd its happen also to TULIO here.

Try updating the firmware (via SD card) if this works then most likely the controller board is OK. It the device throws the SC672 then you'll need to replace the controller board.
Also worth reseating all controller connections, RAM, SOP cable etc.
