I have a Ricoh Aficio 2238c that I am working on and the client wants to use it as a printer but wants color printing disabled. I cannot find a setting for this. Does anyone know how to disable the color? Thanks.

from the print driver - lower left corner of the printing preferences. Set the preference to B/W and set as the default. Although it can be changed! So watch out for that.
Another way to do this, if your a Ricoh tech is to customize the driver for the customer and set it up the same way as mentioned above. This time though, it cannot be changed.
Yet another way, for copying only... From user tools, system settings, Key Op tools - Set up a user code for color copying. This way, when someone wants to make a color copy and they walk up to the machine and press any of the color selections on the control panel, the machine will ask for the user code.
Hope this helps!

Create a user and enter a user code and just select black and white printing as available.
Then enter the user code into the relavant printer drivers and make the default black and white for everyone.
Then instruct all users with that code in their driver that colour prints will not be printed.
NOTE. The only draw back is a colour print sent in error will not inform the user it has not been printed... it will just be dropped by machine and logged in the printer error log.

Also a client picking up a printer driver share will inherit the accessories and paper size settings.
(Those bits should appear greyed out and unselectable on the client).
The mono / colour settings are on the users printing preferences and these settings don't get inherited from a Windows 2003 printer share.
Older O/Ss like Windows 2000 and NT4 all settings use to get inherited from the server share.- Knowledge not shared, is eventually knowledge that becomes lost... like tears in the rain.

Nice graphic daz! This is 1 way I deal with this situation, although more complicated for some. On the print server, Load 1 b/w driver with same feature functionality minus color( Ex. Savin 4045) to same port. Load the correct color driver to the same port, then restrict user acess to the color driver through user rights to the color driver from the server. This is all done with cooperation of a very good network administrator. Works great in the right enviroment.Mystic Crystal RevelationsComment

Look on the savin website- there is a pcl driver (emulator)editing software that you can use to completely change the driver before installing it onto a client computer. Havent used it in a while but I do believe you can turn off color printing then when you install the new version, it only has the options you selected to begin with.Comment
