The waste toner auger shaft is driven from the back of the machine. There is a sensor which detects the auger turning and when the auger stops detects waste toner full. This sensor gets dirty and gives a false detection. Open the right rear control box door, remove the (Small) motor. This gives access to the sensor. You will probably find a load of toner spilled. Vacuum and airdust to clean.

There is 2 waste toner bottles. Check them both.

99% it's the sensor. The toner banks leak.

                waste toner full

don't forget you need to reset the watse toner bottle useage time to clear the code, after you clean the sensor.

Run the motor in test mode. The auger may be tight, there is a torque limiter which may have failed (normally reliable) Read the detailed description in the manual. (Apparently, you can buy them on line for $12.77!... Or download from TESSA!! ... You know, the company that actually OWNS the manual!)

Sp for resetting toner waste full

If after cleaning the sensor at the back of the toner bank and making sure the auger is free, then the timer for the waste toner counter has probably gone over 280 hours.Reset by SP2972 Toner Collection Bottle Opereration Time and simply overwrite with a 0
