Re: MPc3500 can not login to admin or supervisor
default username for administrator is admin and password is null, username for supervisor = supervisor, null password. if dont work then you have to change the nvram or ask your dealer.Nobody is perfect.. -
Re: MPc3500 can not login to admin or supervisor
As a last resource first print out SMC remove the NVram board and dessolder the battery from the board wait a while then solder back on, your NVram will loose all info on it. I assume this machine has that kind of NVram under the back plastic protection. REMEMBER All counters will go to zero, you must then put all SMC values back in the NVram manually.sigpicWe can all Win, but at the end we all loose. Save the greyhoundComment

Re: MPc3500 can not login to admin or supervisor
If both the Admin and Supervisor accounts have unknown passwords you will have to print out the non-default data and re-input manually after changing the NVRAM. There is no other recourse in a GW based machine. Do not back up to SD and restore, the passwords will be transferred. You will also want to record current meters as they will all be zero with the new chip. Good luck.Comment

Re: MPc3500 can not login to admin or supervisor
Just to get this right, you use "admin" for the USER NAME, not the PASSWORD.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. ~Thomas EdisonComment

Re: MPc3500 can not login to admin or supervisor
How do I log in as a supervisor or administrator? Answer Log in as a Supervisor or Administrator
var myimages=new Array()var gotolink="javascript:void(0)"var gotolinknext="##"function preloadimages(){for (i=0;i
Important
- If Administrator Authentication Management is enabled:
- the Supervisor and Administrators should be designated on first installation of the device,
- passwords should be immediately changed from the default in order to maintain full security,
- loss of both Administrator and Supervisor passwords will result in loss of stored data and expensive replacement of security modules.
Log in as a Supervisor or Administrator
Move your mouse over the links to view the images
- Press the [User Tools/Counter] key.
- Touch [Login] at the next screen.
- Touch [Enter] next to [Login User Name].
- Enter your login user name on the display keypad and touch [OK].
If the Administrator user name has not been changed, the default user name is admin.
If the Supervisor user name has not been changed, the default user name is supervisor.
- Do this if the password is set to the default:
- touch [Login] to complete the process,
if the password has not been changed, the default is null (no password) for both Administrators and the Supervisor.
- Do this if a new password has replaced the default:
- To maintain security, we recommend that a new Supervisor changes both their own and the Administrators' usernames and passwords on first use.
- For further details on the comprehensive security features of this device, please refer to the Security Reference.
Administrator Authentication Management
- To restrict access and provide security for data and files, the device is provided with a management function.
- This management function, called Administrator Authentication Management, must be enabled for this function to work.
- When Administrator Authentication Management is enabled, the management functions described below will be available.
- Supervisor. At the highest level, the device is controlled by a single Supervisor. The Supervisor is responsible for controlling up to four Administrators. The designated Supervisor can log on to assign and change Administrator passwords.
- Administrators. At the next level, the Supervisor can register up to four Administrators:
- Device Administrator manages default settings of the device,
- Network Administrator manages network IP addresses and email settings,
- File Administrator manages permission to access stored files,
- User Administrator manages personal information in the Address Book, including the user codes required for accessing the device.
- Administrators can either be specified as four separate authorities, or they can be combined (for example, the Device and User Administrator functions can be combined into a single Administrator. The installation default is a single Administrator (Administrator 1) for all four functions.
- Users. At the lowest level, users are managed by the User Administrator who is responsible for registering users' personal information (including User Codes) in Address Book of the device

Re: MPc3500 can not login to admin or supervisor
So I turned on the Administrator Authentication Management in the user tools and tried to log in there, as stated above. No Luck!! Obviously they have been changed and there is nothing I can doI sure wish they had put something in the SP modes that would allow us to change the supervisor password. Anybody else have any thoughts or ideas??? Sounds like I will be erasing the NVram later this week if I can not get ahold of the person that changed the passwords.

Re: MPc3500 can not login to admin or supervisor
The NVRAM must be replaced, 'erasing' or resetting it via SP mode will not clear the passwords. I'd consider having a new NVRAM on hand should iMind's battery removal technique not pan out as planned if that's what you are intending to try.Comment

Re: MPc3500 can not login to admin or supervisor
If you have another MPc3500 , and you know the password of this other machine, you can download the Nvram to a SDcard and then upload the NVRAM to the blocked machine and it will be solved.
It happened with me one time , and i had two identical machines with different passwords.
Good luck.Comment

Re: MPc3500 can not login to admin or supervisor
I know how to reset the admin and supervisor details to the factory settings but, in light of Rick posting the same question over and over again, I'm going to have to say "replace the NVRAM."Comment
