    MPc5000 8.5x11 scans appear as 11x17

Here's my scenario when running 8.5x11 LEF thru the ADF. All copies printout on 8.5x11, but the scans show as 11x17. They aren't enlarged. They takeup the left side of the page. This happens on both Scan to email & Scan to Folder.

The scanner size is set to "Auto detect", but works correctly if you select 8.5x11. Unfortunately hard setting to letter isn't a do-able option at the account.

I was at the account Friday, but they called back yesterday afternoon. What "fixed" it Friday was going to User Tools and pressing # & Scanner together. Things that didn't phase it: re-flashing the firmware, Sp5801 -9, 10 & 11 and running Sp5832 -2.

The only UT/Scanner setting I changed after the UT reset was to turn off the email max size. I also defaulted it back to PDF, but that was from the Sp5801-9.

Does anybody know what all the "UT/ Scanner + #" resets or have any clue what I should check when I go back out there?

    Thanks,

You can try cleaning the sensors on the DF. If that doesn't work, perhaps one of them is faulty, probably the one that detects 11x17 paper size.

      That's strange.
pressing "scanner" and "#" just sets all settings back to default (Ie: file type, resolution, paper size, etc.), so if "auto detect" was already set, it would therefore not change it. What happens if you set the 'Default' paper size to "Mixed size". I know it's much slower, and may not be a permanent workaround, but does it work? And if so, then what happens if you now set the default back to "auto detect". I'm just wondering if it's a "glitch' and needs to be turned "Off" then back "on", and the scanner reset would not necessarily have done that

Sorry if this is a duplicate reply, but the screen just blanked out when I hit submit.

I couldn't duplicate it again when I went back, but they showed my 2 examples. I swapped out the DF with one we had in the warehouse, since this seems like the most likely cause.
