    sc364 on MPC4000

Has anyone come across the sc364 error on a MPC4000 or similar where I've already replaced the black pcu, dev and dev tank and black toner pump and the error still comes up. when I replaced the black toner pump, it took about a day for the error to re appear. Before I replaced it, I let the machine go into the error state, then replaced the pump. once I powered it back on the machine came to ready where i then did about 40 black copies to see if I could get the machine to refault, which it didnt so I figured i had fixed it. Low and behold a day later, the code is back. Plan to go there and stick the vacumm cleaner on the end of the black toner pipe incase its blocked abit somewhere along the line. will also replace the IBT bealt unit incase as its done about 250k anyway

It likely shows up after about 200 pages when it runs a process control and fails. Did it throw this code before or after you replace the PCDU. Also I think there is an SP 1902-? to run when replacing the Drum for a condition adjustment or something, supposed to run it twice I think which I dont think I have even run that really, but if it had a density issue before you replaced the drum you may need to run it so it will adjust.

Got abit more of a handle on what its doing today. Basically the machine orginally came up with "add black toner" which the customer did and it still asked for toner even after there customer replaced it. Being that that the pcu had done its life, I orginally replaced the pcu and developer which got rid of it asking for toner. about a day later it came up with the sc364 error. Thinking it could be a faulty td sensor in the dev tank, i replaced the whole unit again(new pcu and dev tank). A day later it failed again. This time I replaced the black toner pump. It working for about a day again before failing..Heres what I found today..sc364 mean TD sensor vt low error. Orginally I thought this meant that not enough toner was being supplied to the dev tank.Wrong! It actually means it has to much..Now if I start doing solid black copies, the TD sensor voltage will start to rise towards 3Volts to when sooner of later the machine will shut down and ask for toner. As you expect the black copies start to grey off. You can open and shut the front cover and the add toner will go away. With the back cover off you can hear the toner motor dispencing etc. If you then do a force toner a few times and then check the TD sensor voltage and you will find that it has dropped, hence you know that all the toner supply mech is working. If you keep doing a force toner and drop the TD sensor voltage below .5Volts, the sc364 error with occur every 10 copies until it rises above .5 of a volt. So in theory, because the TD sensor is changing, you know that both the toner supply mech works and also the TD sensor works..So for some reason it doesnt know at what stage to start or stop adding toner..

You may want to start thinking about the BICU board.
I had a machine do something very similar to this and the only thing that resolved it was the BICU.
Do you have a machine that you can borrow a board for testing?
