Aficio SP c811 and SC372 error

Was replacing the BK Transfer Drum with a new one and got this error. Turned the machine on and off and still. THen inserted the old one and it was fine. Is there a way to reset the new TD?
    THanks

You can carefully snap the TD-sensor pcb of the working PCU out of it's housing and re-use it with the new PCU (practice this with the broken one first!) - it's just necessary to initialize the dev and clear the PM counter via SP manually. First I'd check/reset the cable connections of the TD sensor harness.

Thanks. Don't have a broken one to practice on so I'll have to be extra carefull. Before that I will ck that the cable connections of the sensor is in properly. THe reason I'm replacing the K PCU is not because it reached it's limit (only 7,500 clicks on the machine) but because I'm getting ghosting on the black and was told that by replacing the PCU would fix that.

What are you printing to make a PCU fail at 7.5k?!?!?!
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

          Hit it.

Basically the printer is set up to print a letter sized 32 pg newsletter (100 copies) but I screwed up. I found set of toners in China for the price of just one from Ricoh and I gave it a try. I have replaced all colors and it's working fine except that the K started ghosting on me soon after I replaced the original with the China cartridge. It reprints the text on the same page and if not it will have black marks in the blank underside.

Bad idea. I wouldn't install a new PCU and continue using the non-original toner since you might face the same issue again. Sooner or later it's most likely that you need to replace the toner pumps and color PCUs as well.

&$^%#&^@#*). Cheap toner might have ended up costing me lots of $$$$$. Is there any adjustment I can make to the charge of the PCU to fix the ghosting in the mean time?

First you should determine if the ghosting really comes from the pcu. Simply print some large paper size and measure out the distance between the ghostings/image repeating and check if it really fits to the drum perimeter.

You can try disassembly the drum unit and clean it - that's not really complex to do. Once you've seperates drum unit and dev unit you can remove the drum shaft and the drum to gain access to both cleaning blades and the wax brush and vac it out carefully. You can also try to remove just the drum cleaning unit with 2 screws and the charge roller that is (including it's holder) just snapped in from the bottom of the unit. Still you won't be able to clean the 2nd cleaning blade if you don't remove the drum.

Charge adjustments. Never bothered with that to supress such issues so I can't give you an advice.
