The problem the customer is experiencing is when the customer tries to make copies of death certificates the mfp copies come out black. The customer has gone over to a copier next door and the end result is a copy with void across the paper. Is there a way I can change the solid black to possibly have a "void" on the copy from ricoh mp c3300. The customer is a lawyers office and needs to copy these certificates. I understand all about the chips and recognition software so please spare me a lecture. I am just wondering if I can change how the ricoh mp c3300 marks the copy instead of having it blacked out.
ricoh mp c3300 blacked out death certificates.

I believe you have to be at least 15% (maybe 25%) larger or smaller to copy/scan those types of documents.Comment

Just for goofs, make sure you don't have 'data security for copying" enabled. This is generally an optional feature but worth a check to be sure.
1. Press the [User Tools/Counter] key.
2. Press [System Settings].
3. Press [Administrator Tools].
4. Press [Data Security for Copying].
If the setting you want to specify does not appear, press [ Next] to scroll down to other settings.
5. Press [On].
If you do not want to specify "Data Security for Copying", select [Off].
6. Press [OK].
7. Press [Exit].
8. Press the [User Tools/Counter] key.Comment

Re: ricoh mp c3300 blacked out death certificates.
I got this in a memo recently. Death certificates are one of the doc types listed.
In order to copy checks, you have to enlarge to 155+ or decrease 65- to turn offprotection. If they are still having issues, they are most likely encountering the anti-counterfeiting feature that is present on many of our machines designed to prohibit the use of those machines to counterfeit certain types of documents (money, checks, death certificates, etc). There is a service mode setting (SP 4429) that can allow the machine to copy such documents. This setting causes a grid pattern to appear on the copy to ensure that it is clearly identified as a copy, not the real thing or an attempted counterfeit.

Which sub-code of SP4-429 did you try changing? All of them? 001 is Copy, 002 is Scanner and 003 is Fax. Have you tried enlarging or reducing the image?Comment

However, I followed these instructions (above) and the data security option is not showing up.
According to service manual and information I read if the option is installed the document is "grayed out" and if not watermarks appear in the copied document stating it is a copy. This would lead me to believe the optional board is installed.
But when it is installed the option for turning data security on/off should appear in users tools. (according to the service manual)
So in theory if data security doesn't show in user tools then the board is not installed and the documents should not be "grayed out". and because they are, it must be installed. So where has the option to turn it off dissappeared to?
a cunundrum indeed.
also if you remove the board without turning it off in users tools it dissables the machine and service code "sc165" apears. Not sure if the machine is permanently dissabled or if reinstallation of board would get it working again. But I don't want to find out.Comment

Scan to Document server first and then print scanned file.Comment
