[Misc] Anybody know where I can get a 5.5mm STUBBY nutdriver?

Hello gents. Anybody know where I could pick up a stubby 5.5mm nutdriver? Google and Amazon have given me nothing. Crawford, Klein, Wiha, Snap-On and the rest are coming up short (either they don't have metric/the right size or they only have longer tools.)

All of the bits I have found are long enough that it sort of defeats the purpose. Lowe's/Home Depot just gets that thousand-yard stare when you say "Metric."

Anybody found a stubby for the tight spots? This is turning into a surprisingly difficult search.

Have you heard of Google or Bing?

Get just the socket, and clamp it with a small vice-grip, or a square ratchet offset driver.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Yes, I have heard of Google and Bing, which is why I wrote in VERY simple language that I had already done a lot of searching.

If it's so easy to find, perhaps you can show me how easy it is? Link me up, bro.

So uh, thanks? for the information on how I can jury rig something that is not at all what I asked for. But before you suggest it, no- I don't think cutting a longer driver in half is helpful advice, either.

Well attitude will get you nowhere in a hurry!!!! nmfaxman's suggestion is a valid work around for the situation, from a reputable member of this forum. I realize you want something better, I use a stobby adapter I got at Sears by the check out. It's about 3/4 inch thick with a knuraled grip. One side is a standard 1/4 square drive , the other is the standard hex drive. I put a 1 inch hex to square adapter in it and then the socket on it for about a 2 inch stubby. That's my $2 worth from sears. Your welcome to go big with Snapon, MAC, Matco ect..... There's also Harbor Freight or Northern Tool

With all due respect, the attitude is what sparked my response. If the answer I get from a "reputable member of this forum" is "Have you heard of Google or Bing" I'm at a loss. At the very least, that's just dismissive and willfully ignoring what I just posted. But "What a dick" is a more natural reaction, I think. So far nobody's come forward with a link to what I've requested so I'm still sure it ain't easy to find. Prove me wrong- anybody.

In either case, I do appreciate the advice, but it isn't what I was asking for. I have physically gone to Lowe's, Home Depot, Sears, Harbor Freight (and a couple local stores) and I have searched online extensively. I have been unable to find a stubby 5.5mm nutdriver. More specifically, I did find one, but it was part of a nine piece set and would have to be ordered from overseas. I'd prefer not to go that route because it's too much for what seemed like cheap junk.

I'm looking for a specific tool. I have a stubby phillips and I have a small wrench that both get the job done. My situation is that I am having some health problems that affect the strength and range of motion in my shoulder, and where using my other tools works it causes a great deal of pain. But a stubby nutdriver wouldn't.

The $2 workaround from Sears sounds like a fine idea, and I might go that route. But I would definitely prefer to get a dedicated quality tool.

The 2nd link is actually almost what I was looking for so I thank you for that. Sincerely.

But really dude? Is portraying me as ignorant or incapable of performing a Google search making you feel superior? I sure hope so.

Either way I've decided to order these and drill out and epoxy a dowel handle onto them. Since they only had the 5 pack I guess I'll have stocking stuffers for my team this Christmas.

                Cheers!

Here's one with a 2 7/8 " shaft and a rubberized handle that can be cut to size.
