Web Interface stopped working on Ricoh Aficio MP 2500

    Hi

I had setup a "shortcut" to scan directly to a shared folder, and the user account password for that share was changed so the scanning gave an authentication error. Even though I changed the password back to the previous value, it is still not working.

I tried to go to the web interface (http://192.168.0.x/) and I just get a 404 error.

    I tried:
    1. going into the service menu (yellow clear, 1, 0, 7, hold red cancel)
    2. press 1 for copier
    3. press 5 for "mode"
    4. I ensured the web interface was set to enabled (1). Set it to 0 then back to 1.
    5. Cleared memory for "GWWM"

This had no effect. Any ideas on this? I'd even be open to factory reset and/or upgrade firmware if available and reset.

Firmwares are Printer 1.04, System 1.04, Engine 1.04:02, NIB 6.14

I'm assuming that there is no issue with printing. Correct?
Have you tried logging in from multiple PC's with same result?
Have you tried connecting the machine directly to a laptop to eliminate network issues?
Try resetting system settings to default: User tools/ (down to) system settings/ Hold # and press "OK". Select 'yes" when prompted to reset settings.
Then reset IP address, etc, and try to log in

No issue with printing. I can scan to folder if I browse and manually enter user/password. It still shows an error but the file is saved in the folder.

I didn't try multiple PCs or connecting directly because 404 error tells me it is contacting the web server

Yes but the security software on the computer could be blocking the content of the page.

I will certainly check it tomorrow. Assuming that isn't the issue, is there anything I should check or clear on the Ricoh?

If your trials with other PC won't success check this:

            Connect to machine via telnet
check if Web interface is on with command "show"
if not, try to configure via "web" command.

            ----

Try to upgrade or reload Firmware.

            See you!

I will try this. is telnet wide open or is there a default login/password?

I cannot find any guides on how to update firmware or what the latest version is or where to download it for this model.

From a command prompt, enter: telnet <ip address of copier>.

User name should be: admin (lower case)

There should be no password, so press Enter.

Type "set web up" (no quotes).

                Close window

Also, what browser are you using? IE 11 won't connect unless it's in compatibility mode. This is a common problem with Windows 8, Server 2008 and Server 2012.

Another reason why I use Firefox.

                    It was Google Chrome

Will try these suggestions, I will be on site in the next day or two.

I use Chrome even less than I use IE.
