this software without success. Anyone here got any luck with it? Or is there other way of doing it?

    Cheers!

The service manual describes a procedure for doing this task.

I got the service manual. Most of the things can be reset in the service mode, except for the toner cartridges and the transfer belt. Believe me, I've tried.

Yes, I did. It's possible to reset every consumable except for the toner cartridges and the transfer belt. Believe me - I tried!

i 'll bet there is a chip or a blowable fus on a new tr belt assy. and the real kicker is there is not one on the first (original) belt because it counts out and the fuse blows and resets the count when new one is installed..... Okidata does this and took a while to figure out..... look for a contact point on the machine that does not connect to anything on the old tr unit....i do know that the fuse is a very low rated blowable one hope it helps Terry

Thanks, Terry. I had already noticed that the thing uses a chip. There's a website telling how to use an old computer's paralel port a piece of DOS software to reset the chips, but I didn't manage to do it.

SO, my next step is to buy the chips. Anyone here can recommend a good european site to order the chips from?

              Cheers!

if it's a 24C02 chip, it can be resetted using ponyprog software and
i2c hardware prog. I have a resetter for 24c02/24c04 chips.
