    MX-M's with H5-01's

I've been thinking. What if we could shut off the parameter for the detection of temp being caused by a paper wrap of the roller? Is there a list of entire machine soft switches? Any input would be great. This is EFFN frustrating. Sharp KNOWS there is something wrong and coming up with a swab fix? I've had it. It's costing us lots of money to keep these customers happy.

H5-01 is a safety measure programmed into the Sharps. 3 consequtive jams will trigger it. The assumption is the paper has jammed in the fuser, and there is a risk to permanent damage if the operator keeps trying to feed paper and is not removing what's jammed. The paper trips POD1, but not POD2 - assumption is paper is jammed, accordian-style in the fuser, and the operator is either not looking in the right spot or not seeing the paper. Thus, they have to call for service as H5-01 requires a service reset with Sim 14.

I totally understand this but the issue is the H5-01 is for a suspected wrap on roller because of a temp variance from TH-US sensor. There are NO jams in the 22-3 report but yet the machine is in error with the H5-01

had an mxm 5070 that threw random h5 codes with no jam codes in 22-6. it was at a lawyers office in an old restored house. Dedicated power line fixed the issue. machine was there about a year before problem manifested.

I'm sure that you have replaced the thermistors. If not I would give that a try.

Hi all. There is service bulletin for adding spacer on the fuser unit connector that would FIXED the problems on MXM 71 series. Check out Ti2024-062-en through Sharp.

I havent looked at the bulletin yet but if you remove the fuser and power on the machine it will give you the message to install the fuser. Then power off the machine and install fuser. This resets how the pcu board looks at the non contact thermistors. This has fixed most of my calls.

We have had this issue a fair bit, the addition of the washers as mentioned in the bulletin seems to have solved the issue.
I have attached a copy of the bulletin.

Thanks for posting. I have no idea why I haven't seen this from Sharp already.

What is the thickness of the spacer? I can't order this spare part here in Italy and i'm searching for an alternative. Thanks!

Pizzamano, you can buy anywhere at store for spacer and it has to be 1mm thickness.

At this point I believe sharp be stealing tips from here, some one had mention a while back about adding washers.
