    Sharp MX3070N E7-03, E7-80 and E7-90

We recently inherited a Sharp MX3070N MFP.

We were told by the previous owner that the HDD had gone out and sure enough on bootup we had error code E7-03. We took the back off and noticed there was no 2.5" SATA HDD so we installed a 2.5" 500GB Samsung SATA SSD.

Now on bootup we get error codes E7-80 and E7-90 which I believe is because we don't have the correct firmware on the HDD? Either that or the MSATA SSD is bad?

Can anyone shed any light on this?

What firmware / software do we need to install and where can one download this from please?

    Thank you all in advance.

You could TRY booting into CN Update mode, and forcing the update that way, but I've never personally done that, only saw someone do that once.

Thanks for the feedback. We can get into the CN update mode but unfortunately don't have any of the firmware / files needed to actually install anything. Is there any source for these online?

When we are getting E7-80 & E7-90 codes, it's usually the msata that needs replacement. Firmware can be found on the Sharp IDNC tech site.

          E7-80 & E7-90 can also be a fault MFPC

For us, we always check HDD, then mSata, then finally MFPC (CPLTM9048DSA7).

mSata is the most likely cause, if you need to replace it you will need (at least) firmware, watermark data, and the OCR dictionary. You can skip the E-Manual data, no one really uses it anyway.

All of these are only available to Sharp service engineers, but you may be able to ask around to acquire them.
