Sharp MX B402SC / ADF Question

    Hey everyone
Hope all are doing well.I just purchased 2 Sharp MX B402SC service manuals thinking the first one for $9.95 was not a complete service manual. So
I brought another for $19.95.Turns out same manual a total waste.I could not find what I was looking for in either one. Does anyone know how to clean the optical unit in
ADF that reads the originals. The copies when scanned into the computer or copied from the doc feeder or a lot lighter than when placing an original on the glass so I`m thinking
the reader in the adf unit needs to be cleaned out. Does anyone know how to clean it out. I did not want to take apart without being sure how to do it.
Thank you all as always for helping out
    Andy

If removing the slit glass and cleaing does not take care of your problem, then yeah it's disassemble the ADF remove the CCD unit open it up and clean every thing throw it back in.

It's not hard to do. Start by opening the adf jam door where the feed/p/u rollers are located, remove the screws on either side and that will get you started. Send me your email and I can send you the service manual if you need it.

Old Konicas (Bizhub 250) had a very unusual setting that could change ADF only density. Yours might have something like that.

I've had issues in the past from second hand machines with the adf printing lightly. Find the restore factory settings on the control panel and restore factory settings.

            Hey Everyone
Thank you ALL AS AWAYS for offering help. I ended up just having the customer manual set the exposure to a darker setting for all copying(Both on the glass and thru the ADF.
I tried to adjust the exposure settings for the Automatic Exposure to darken up the print thru the simulations(USING SIMULATION 46)I gave up after 2 hours as nothing seemed to work .
I am not sure Exactly which 46 subcode to use and how to set it(YES I HAVE THE SERVICE MANUAL). Please help as I am probably missing the easy way to make this adjustment and yes I will say the obvious for all
I HAVE NO EXPERIENCE USING THIS SIMULATION ON THIS MACHINE
IT USED TO BE SO EASY 25 YEARS AGO

Thank you for your patience with me as always
            Andy
