    Sharp MXC300W - Admin password

    Hi guys,

just bought in a Sharp MXC300w, unfortunately the admin password has been changed, awaiting to see if supplier can find out the password,

now i have tried to get into Sim Mode to do a factory reset but i cant seem to get into it (dont believe we are doing it correctly if anyone can provide instructions)

or does anyone have another way of resetting the password i know on some machines you can adjust a dipswitch on the back of the machine but cant seem to find it on this machine,

Default admin password is 5 zeros.

The SIM access for these is the same key combination as other Sharps, but you need to be on the Copy screen first.

The MX C300W has a micro switch on the MFP to reset the password.

You can use a clone from another machine
goto sim56-export data -export hdd data save it to a usb
then on your machine sim56 - import data - import hdd data
        save removing all them screws
Remove the back cover then the metal plate in the upper left hand corner the dip switches are on the board set dip switch 1 to on
on turn on the machine you should then get the option to reset admin password sim 30

mainly a Konica/Develop guy, can get into sim mode on the bigger machines but failing on this little one

so to get into Sim Mode you do the following - copy mode - program tab - * - C - program tab

          also tried copy mode- # * C *

I have this problem with firmware files on Sharp machines a lot. 49-1 will show all the firmware files I have on my USB except for the model I'm working on at the time. Make sure you're extracting the .zip folder, and not just opening it and copying the file to your USB. I'm not entirely sure if that has any bearing on if it will find it or not, but it is worth the extra time spent to be sure that isn't the problem.

The "ONLY" way to reset the password on this machine is to take the back off and use the microswitch that was referenced in an earlier post.

There is a secret sim for this, where as you enter a sim and it will pull off three files to a usb stick (you put this at the front)

One of these files will contain the pin (normally five zeros) if read with notepad

                        PM for details.
Networking skills are advantageous but use of a 3m vacuum cleaner is essential

Also, this model of machine will only read firmware from the root of the drive.
