Sharp MX-4070v paper feed unit 1 jam

Hello all,

I have a 4070V that when pulling from tray 1, the paper feed unit jams almost immediately leaving about 1-2 inches of the sheet coming out. I have replaced all 3 rollers and checked the wiring to make sure it is in good shape. Haven't run into this yet, I've only been a tech since August of '22, so still relatively new to this field. Any ideas?

Hey Szyduck,

I would start by checking the last sensor the paper hit on the way out of the tray 1 feed unit. My best guess is that last sensor is not responding so the machine stops the paper when it doesn't see it arrive. You can check the feed unit sensors in sim 30-02 I believe. Good luck!

Are you new to Sharp? The first page of 22-6 and 23-2 are you're best friends. What's the jam code?

How many copies out of the tray? If around 800K i would look at the torque limiter also. Had one that the feed roller TL was slipping causing very similar problems.
