mx 3070 prints all black over colors

I don't expect anyone to solve this for me, but if it jogs your memory or have a hint of anything it would be greatly appreciated. We got a repaired scn board back from hytec that was sent for boot problems. Put it in and now the copies and computer prints look like a black sky shot over the color image. I don't know how likely it is to get a repaired board back with a different problem. I reseated the connections a few times. Tried a different black drum. I scanned an image to a usb and it came out clear. I did internal test prints that come out perfect when printing color, but when doing the mono tests no matter what pattern comes out like a sky shot. I considered the laser but I would think that would show the problem in every instance. Do you suppose it's the board or something else I'm missing ?
    Thank you for your input.

Do you have another machine to put that repaired scan board in to see if the problem follows?

This would be my suggestion as well. I don't think a scan board would affect computer prints though. If the original problem was booting, there may have been another problem that came up at the same time, possibly from the result of a common factor between the scan board and the print engine. Although, I have never seen a scan board cause boot problems before, so that's a new one. Seeing that it doesn't have the problem on a scan to a USB, it may be a network or network board problem

Tending to think it's something electronic. I haven't tried the sim yet. My fellow tech started to check it out. He noticed it was starting to give the please wait message and freezing up. He replaced the msata, and now instead of an all black print, It prints all the colors and no black. I'm not sure if there is something that controls the separate colors is flaky. We are plugging away at it. Will update if anything makes sense.

Check your Primary Transfer. All these different symptoms may be tied to one board, or they may be separate issues that just all happened to come up around the same time. After replacing the msata, did the other tech also reload the firmware? It might be necessary to do the CN update to force an overwrite of all firmwares

May also want to try a factory reset/end of lease procedure. Have had this fix odd problems on this series.

              Good luck

This is turning out to be an odd one in my opinion. Just to be clear it is the SCN MFPC board. It integrates the network board. I tried all your suggestions. Except we don't have another 3070 at the moment. After doing the CN update, it still said please wait after one copy. I replaced the msata with a known good one and still says please wait after one copy. This was the original problem why we sent it to Hytec to check it out. They said no problem found on the packing slip. It also still has the black missing. I don't know what the chances are for the hard drive. It is the original one to this machine. The machine we got the board from still has it's original hdd and is still working. It's just one of our mysteries, so it's ok if no one knows. There's no time constraint, we're testing this at the shop.

You could swap HDD or install a new one, it cant hurt at this point.

I would also install a new HDD.

For future reference run a sim 62-7 for a check of a HDD. It will display to Power On Hours. The print out should show all zeros. I just ran it on a MX-4070N in our office and it has 24,595 hours on the HDD but it also showed mostly all zeros. Only sectors 01 through 06 did not have zeros.
