MXM6071 "network error -timeout error consult administrator"

    MXM6071 "network error -timeout error consult administrator"

    so customer has MXM6071 with " network error -timeout error consult administrator" popping up. the copier wasn't even connected to the network (no network at all) also no fax.
    it has the latest FW (MXM3071 Series_E01_0410z200.sfu) and i have since then connected it to the network. its still doing it.
    any ideas?
    it is configured with a de28,fn29,pn15b,rb25.
    Note it has worked fine since DEC 2020 and this has only started recently ..around August 2023

    Are you scanning to folder or scanning to email? For scan to folder, Do you have a valid user name and password including domain if scanning to folder? Also does the folder you are trying to scan to even exist? Do you have the correct folder path?
    For scan to email, do you have the correct SMTP settings configured in the machine? Did the end user change the password to the authentication email used? Is it a g-mail account they are using for authentication? If so, did 2 factor authentication get turned on for the account and has an app password been created to allow the copier access to the g-mail?

      Maybe see how it prints from your laptop or if it does the same thing.

        yes i attached it to the network.. it prints fine

          ..um it was doing it with no network connection IE no scan to email setup .. they dont use the scanner ability

              Make sure SNTP is off, NETWORK SETTINGS>>>SERVICES>>>SNTP
              also make sure POP before SMTP is not checked NETWORK SETTINGS>>>>SMTP

                Just because it's not networked doesn't mean there aren't things that could still be trying to send. Someone could have gone in and enabled reports to be sent in System Control, also could be SNMP, email print as well. You didn't mention a fax, but if someone tries to enable fax forwarding to email or folder, it would pop this error up when it failed.

                  hmm but i did eventually connect the copier to a network. and it still did it

                    well it still does it even though it is now connected and configured. printing works and scanning works.. we get email alerts ..
                    Sharp Canada offered a possible solution
                    enable pseudo night mode SIM 66-1, sw 92, bit 7 to 1.
                    we have done this now and customer hasnt called in over a week. we will see how it goes

                      It's a shame I missed this post.

                      I would of said to look at the Job Log real quick. Then you would of seen the time and date of when the error most likely started, in addition to an accompanying error code, only found in Job Log.
