    ERROR F1-08

hello guys, i am about to go to a customer tomorrow that says there mx machine has a f1-08 problem, i think the error code has something to do with the stapler motor, is ther anything i should look for to repair this problem, other than resetting the machine with sim 14 and checking the FNX1 finisher?

    Check the motor

SIM 3-3 operates the stapler motor for troubleshooting.

FNX1 I usually clean the round 'slide' rail that the stapler rides on and apply a thin layer of fuser oil and it usually work for me. The mounts on the stapler have a pretty tight tolerance around that shaft.

The FNX1 finisher with a F1-08 should be an easy fix. Most of the time I get this code on this finisher, its because the client has not fully clipped the staple cartridge in fully, then the front door gets closed, the staple unit moves front/rear and the cartridge falls out.
It is quite common believe it or not. Take the cartridge out, reseat it and test.

Otherwise, Nachoman is right as usual. Check the slider rail. Could be related to the harness, but I doubt it.

well guys it ended up being the belt that drives the staple unit snapped over one off the drive gears that actaully turns it, dont ask me how, it took me almost all day trying to repair it, had to strip the FNX1 down to put that belt back on. its all up and working again, thank you all you guys for the help.appreciate it very much.

rear buddy the smaller of the two gears, i think the plastic clip that holds the gear in place popped out, i am thinking that the slide rail was not moving freely, and forced the the clip that holds the gear to pop out, i also lubricated the slide rail, as someone advised me to do above.
