    MX7040N - Sharp Error U2-30

    Hope you all doing great!

Machine throwing this error U2-30 Error, have 2 of these Machines in same building.
If you kindly point me to the right direction is there anything we should be looking at before interchanging or replacing the Controller or EEPROM?

And if you could write EEPROM Part Number?

A U2-30 code means the serial number written on the eeprom of the pcu pwb does not match the serial number written on the eeprom of the mfp pwb. From what I know the only way to get rid of the code is to send both eeproms back to Sharp to figure out which one is corrupt and then replace that one. Sharp will have to put the serial number into the new eeprom. This is assuming you have not been interchanging pwbs between the two machines and just got the pwbs mixed up.

Place a jump drive in the MFP USB Port and execute simulation 56-5. It will download the machine data printout (22-6) in text format. You can then read the data to determine which EEPROM is missing the serial number.
Sharp Technical Tip TT-082213_1 has full instructions for handling EEPROMs as well as paperwork and instructions of what to send to Sharp to get them re-programmed. Your MFP will be out of commission until you get the EEPROMs back from Sharp, so following the instructions correctly and promptly will get you back up and running with the least amount of delays.

Thank you so much for prompt feedback...

This might be stupid to ask but how to get in to simulation Mode with these newer Models cause
There is no key combination anymore?

I am sorry but you need to get and read the manual if you are going to service this and other never models.
