Sharp MX M453 Developer over toning

I have replaced the developer several times and it continues to over tone itself after anywhere from 4,000 to 36,000 copies. The settings have pretty much stayed the same, DV.25/2 = 100/103 & 99/104, 99/102.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Can I check the value when it is over toned? Can I set a different number to compensate for the change.

    Thank you,

    Thank you,
Are you running 25-2 with the toner removed? There was a problem with the toner add clutch binding up and was adding toner all the time.
Run 25-1 to see readings, with toner removed, and door cheated - you'll be able to see if the drive coupling is turning, it should not be turning.

      To the basics:

What are your counters like? Are you just replacing developer with a worn out drum?

I checked the toner motor gear during 25-1. The gear is not turning. There is so much toner, the waste is full and it is spilling out of the dv unit. My numbers are good when I set the new developer calibration......

It seems to happen when the customer changes the old toner cartridge. Could it be that they are not shaking the cartridge long or hard enough.

I don't have to do anything after the toner cal. is done? (25/2)

        Thanks for the extra help

also check waste toner for developer and replace developer, drum and charge kit.

          1. OEM toner ?
2 clean image density sensor(in transfer roller unit)
          3. replace developer, clean dev unit toner sensor, 25-2
          4. 44-2 sets image density sensor reference (reads drum, useful if non oem drum).
          5.clean optics and glass
          6. perform 46-24.

Been seeing this a lot, sim 25-01 should read above 40 to run properly, initial 25-02 should set up around 75 or so at DV change.
25-01 values around 23 to 35 usually prompt a F2-40 error code. We tested output on PCU connector (CN3 pin9) on one machine, got very low output w/ no change during DV spin. Changed toner sensor (TCS), ran sky shots in aging mode (sim 7, dv check disable) until value exceeded 40, machine ran well after that. I think I remember good sensor voltage at pin9 being 1.85v...?
It should be noted that the same sensor worked fine in another machine though...go figure.

As Akitu said, may be related to OLD drum - counter may not be only indicator of drum condition.
