How to get rid of the Call for Service msg

My Toshiba E-Studio 550 gave me a Call for service Message and locked the copier. I can't push any buttons. How do I reset the copier so I can see what's wrong.

Any buttons ? Press C and 8 at once and read error code.

When I get this code I normally just replace the heat roller thermistors and clear the code. You might just need to clean the thermistors. In any case you can clear the code by setting 08 400 to zero.

Thanks for the reply. How do you replace the heat roller thermistors? Are there directions online?

Sorry MattPhung, I could show anyone how to do it, but I could not explain it in the written word very well. However, if you have serviced any fuser in the past it should not be very difficult to figure out by taking your time and paying attention. It is best to remove the fuser from the machine, remove the cleaning web assembly, from there you will be able to see the three thermistors which are all on one harness.

                Good luck.

i think ! the fist you can try pressed 0 and 8 when you tune on the machine
                  press 400 - star
                  press 0 - set
                  restart the machine
                  fun

if it don't run, call service
                  fun again
