We have customer that has this machine in there warehouse throwing a CA00 code and the magenta is wash out and tiger striping, the other colors look okay. the question is do I just change out just the magenta dv or should all the colors be changed it has 200,000 on it and I have know idea when it was last service. also it makes a ratchet noise when feeding and copying. We are Kyocera dealer and was servicing there main copier and was ask about the Toshiba and I have service manual but I just don't know if it worth servicing being it 10 years old.

Re: Toshiba e studio 2500c CA00
Changing the magenta developer only will allow you to clear the CA00. You'll have to do a developer stir and color calibration. The eS2500 is not the oldest color machine under contact. We still contract eS281C.
Toshiba still supports 12 year old MFPs. The color DEV kit goes for $1200 , not counting the drums. I think I'd hold off on the other items if you can. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks for the reply and will let the customer know the cost, but would you happen to know what the ratcheting noise
could be when it is running copies. could it be one of the dv units never heard that type of noise before. The sound starts as soon as the paper starts feeding.Comment

Re: Toshiba e studio 2500c CA00
Another common cause of noise is the drive gear on the fuser unit. Remove the fuser unit and check if the gear is worn. If you don't have a replacement you can flip the gear around and it will work fine. Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?Comment

Re: Toshiba e studio 2500c CA00
I would bin the machine personally, they came out around the same time as the 281c, but production ended earlier & the 2500c was terminated for parts production 2 years ago.
I automatically condemn every one of those machines when a call comes in, several parts are no longer available & they run very dirty.Happiness Is The Road.Comment
