Mac print driver with departmental counter

I tried to walk a customer through installing a print driver on a Mac computer, the driver installed but it isn't printing. The customer has department counters, and the dialog box for her key never appears. How can I install a Toshiba specific driver to her Mac?

    Thanks in advance,
    Marc

What version of Mac OSX is the customer operating?

If Mac OSX 10.13 High Sierra or less Dept Codes will never work.

If Mac OSX 10.15 Catalina or higher, Dept Codes will 100% work and you are doing something wrong.

On Earlier Mac OS versions dept codes will work you just have to get creative. Preview and other Apple programs (Safari) don't have the backbone needed to support ( they fixed this issue in later OS versions) this but if you download Chrome or Adobe PDF and open your document using them you will see a different drop down feature set, you will be able to type in the code directly and save a s a preset. I think you have to have a 5 digit dept code as well because that is all the system will recognize. Hope this helps. Apple also stopped supporting NIS which affects Multistation print and the use of Active directory on certain MAC OS versions as well.

I was asked to do this call remotely, they sent a tech, and this was what he taught me. After downloading the PPD file from the Toshiba website, you install the printer via TCP/IP address, and on that screen there is an option to install software. You then point the software installer to the PPD file you downloaded, and the codes will work.

Thanks for the replies, hopefully this will help someone.

... if the customer is using OSX 10.14 or higher (now OSX 12), the Toshiba print drivers will work with Dept Codes without undo effort. A Static IP address is mandatory.
