"Save Scans to File" -- Toshiba e-studio 520

    Hi guys,

I have been trying to get our Toshiba E-studio copier to save to our server. Here is what my setup looks like:

But the scans do not go to the folder (which I have given full user rights, and the username being used is for an admin account). What am I doing wrong/ should be doing differently?

Our hope is to let each user scan straight to their home drive folder. Thanks!

UPDATE: The copier repair man was here for a separate issue and we tried setting it up to scan to the server's ip. The first scan gave no error but the file never showed up in the 'scans' folder. Now it keeps throwing out error 2R62 or similar.

UPDATE2: I get error 2D62 which means it cannot reach network destination. The printer is able to ping the server fine. Not sure what's going on X_X

Change the d\home\scans to d:\home\scans. Also make sure the dns info is correct or it will not know where the ntserver is located.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

      Thanks spock,

D is actually a folder name rather than a drive. So it's like typing in 192.168.1.101\D\home\scans.

One workaround I found was just to use the printers ip which has a file_share folder with scans. I think we'll have to go with that. As curious as I am to fix this problem, theres more work to be done! thanks!

Try setting remote 2 to the same info as remote 1. Sometimes this works on these machines...

you can set up templates within the file share that will look like the users are scanning to their own folder. The folder won't show up until you scan something to it though, plus there is no security on this folder and it cannot be backed up to your network. Unfortunaltly you will not find many of us that have ever setup a scan to novel fileshare and this is an older MFP that may not really support it. I have managed to do this with SMB long ago, but the customer was forced to install some sort of native file sharing program to allow the SMB scan to work. EMujo

Is this a windlows server or a Novell server? That will depend on my next suggestion (other than to make both remotes the same).

this could be completely wrong but the way i normally set up scanning to servers is

              set it to SMB,
Make sure the "Scans" folder is shared,
in the network path type "\\ntserver/scans

not sure if i got the slashes the right way...

if its easier just use the copiers HDD (file_share), it should be around 40gb
any network pc should be able to access it by typing in the "\\ip address of the copier"

              Cheers Cam
