    Dark copy on Toshiba e167&207

Hi all. I have an issue with these machines. I have to print A3 land maps. But when the print is out, it' darker, in some cases A LOT darker than the original. It's like the original, but with way darker contrast. There are a few things that need to be mentioned here:
-these copiers only work with compatible toner (Katun)
    - the drum is Katun brand, and the developer in these machines is way over 80k, 90k.
    So, my questions are :
    1. How can i "light up" the print? Can it be done from the machine ( 05 or 08 adjustments)? Or can it be done from the PC ( toner save ON from printing preferences)?
    2. Is this because of the developer? If i change it, would the copy match exactly the original?
    3. I have machines with the same number of copies, same drum, same life span developer and they work great. So, what is different in those machines from wich i get the dark copy...????
THanks and any sugesstions are welcome.

If You talk about background culprit is a Katun toner (there is a problematic lot). If You talking about missing gradation it is again toner. Change toner with original and make 10-20 solid black prints. Check also 05-672 and 676.

But i have machines that work with katun toner and the contrast is great. What else can be the cause for the rest of them? Can be the developer? Can "toner save mode ON" lighten up the copy a little bit?

I also believe it's a toner problem. I've seen these models done 200K with original toner without changing developer.

In the beginning Katun toner was ok. But after background starts to show-up we stop it. Can You provide scan of the problem?

i have not tried katun. but you can try resetting the PM counters if you have not yet done that.

I cannont change toner. Supplies are included in a contract in wich i cannont interfere. I will change developer soon and post info afterwards. I hope it solves the problem.
