Hi, I have an issue here regarding on Mac OS 10.5 department code to control colour usage. Currently I have setup a department code for Mac OS to control the colour usage, but when choosing the auto colour, the department code will not pop out to ask for key in department code. When I choose full colour, only the department code will pop out to ask for key in department code. Any reason for this problem?

It's a little different than on the PC, since we can't pop up a window to prompt the user for a department code if they don't enter one.
You can enter a default department code in one of two ways, First, you can set the default for the user by opening CUPS (the Common Unix Printing System), which is the framework of the Mac printing system. To do this, open a web browser on the Mac and browse to We'll Have More Soon. This will bring up CUPS, and your user can choose Administration and set the defaults there. It will prompt them for their username when they are finished.
You can also open a document, put in the department code setting and then choose Presets>>Save Preset. You can then make this preset the default for the printer by opening a new document, choosing Print and selecting the preset you just made while holding down the Option key. -
