Toshiba E-Studio 255 Hard Drive Replacement

Hello All,

I require some assistance with replacing a hard drive on a E-studio 255. Firstly will a 320gb SATA I drive work in this machine or will that be too large? The machine was supplied without a hard drive so I think I will require the firmware to be installed again.

Can someone assist me with the procedures required to replace the hard drive, and also from where to source the firmware from (Justmanuals.com? open to suggestions) I am willing to pay to play (within reason). The other thing is that I am from Australia and am unsure if this affects what firmware I have to install.

The machine should have a hard drive attached to the system board, and paul (just manuals should have the latest firmware) as most people on this site i do not give out firmware. They were originally shipped with 60GB hard drives but we have put 120gb plus in them with no problems.

Why are you replacing the hard drive?

The machine was purchased at auction and was ex-govt. I can only suspect that they removed the drive for security purposes?
I will get in touch with justmanuals and make the necessary enquiries about the firmware.

Are you able to assist with the procedure to install the firmware once I obtain it from justmanuals?

Finally I am after a GD1250 Fax Kit. Would anyone have any leads as to where I could find one?

Justmanuals might give you the walk through procedure with the firmware, i am not sure though. If not post back here and i will help you.

I have been researching into the GD-1250 fax kit and was wondering if there are any differences between the kits from differing regions (e.g NA/TW, EU/AU/AS, C, J). I can only find the GD-1250 kit from North America. Also is the GD-1250 universal in shape as it appears to fit many different e-studio models? Currently my machine has the USB + Network connections and a blanking plate for what would be the telephone connector. Any e-bridge 3 GD-1250 will fit?

Hello, I did the firmware upgrade after hdd replacement and the firmware was T470ALLA068USB. It works only as a photocopier now, the scanner and printer functions do not work, and it has error 4030. I read that it may be a dongle problem, but I didn't change any other hardware. Can anyone send or share any other firmware for toshiba e studio 255?
