Service mode can be entered by holding 0 for 10 seconds then while still holding down the 0 key pressing start.
6789 enters diagnostic mode 2732 enters CSE mode
Unlike Ricoh you don't have to enter service mode to reset all fuser errors on Xerox. If they are having a fuser error first inspect the fuser for damaged rollers. If all looks well try a simple power off / on. If that does not correct it you'll probably have to replace the fuser.
Did you get the "Fuser System Error" resolved? I have the same problem on a WC 7970. I did notice the heat roller had a small wrinkle an inch or so from the edge.

If you are still having this error (78xx and 79xx) all you have to do is unplug the machine from power and keep it unplug for 2min - while it's unplug take fuser (R8 - behind door A, left side of the machine) out shake and install, plug and power on the machine
