xerox 5655 replace waste toner message wont go away

Anyone seen this before? Changed bottle a while back and client says message keeps popping up. Now won't go away and I went there also . Are the small led boards bad perhaps?

Yes and no. Clean that entire toner bottle unit. The red LEDs shoot across the neck of the bottle. If there is anything in the neck of the bottle (ie reusing same) that can cause the false message. Also sometimes the waste toner shutter trap door does not close completely causing a build up and contamination in the unit. Remove back cover to access waste toner assembly, try to vacuum it out and get it very clean. If problem persists shake the waste toner tube to loosen it up as it maybe compacted and dumping a lot of toner at once causing the neck to get dirty.
