Need help - Docucolor 242 - Setting up Scan to Email

I have a Docucolor 242 and need help in setting up the scanner so that it will send the scanned images to an email address. I have tried several settings, but I am not having any luck. I can't find anything online about this either or in the manuals. Anyone have knowledge about setting this up?

    THANKS!

Sorry, but it's not a feature on this particular model

Hi - the Doc 242 can scan to email or to FTP, etc....but I am just having issues with the settings. There is a spot in the scan template where you can put an email address to send the scanned image to.

If you say that it does, scan-to-email and scan-to-FTP are 2 different things. If it can scan-to-email, you need to have the proper SMTP/IP address entered and SMTP authentication details if required. If it can scan-to-FTP you need a SERVER address and a SHARE NAME to which your file will be scanned/ stored to. You also need FTP services running on the server you are scanning to and a username and password entered on your machine DC242...

there is a space for smtp, etc., but I can't make the darn thing work. I am sure there are just some settings I am missing. I just wish there were some instructions online or somewhere that can walk me through this.

Scan to File & FTP, Scan to Email

I have four files, one is 8.7 MB, covering scan to file & FTP, and scan to email from Xerox DocuCentre and WorkCentre products.

I think they are too big to attach here, but if you send me your email address I will forward them to you.

Three are in French. But, there ARE lots of pictures of step by step screen shots that illustrate the setups.

i think you are missing the whole point. What he wants is setting up scan function for a DOCUCOLOR model which is not in your list

DC242 Will Not Scan To File?

                      TechMate:

What you are saying is, the 242 will NOT scan to file like the 250 does?

Ok then. I've noticed there's a CONFIGURE tab. click on it and get into configure. I'm sure there's a part under PORT settings where TCP/IP and SMTP settings are located. Be sure you have the correct SUB NET, GATEWAY, and SMTP server address. Don't forget to SAVE and reboot after the change...
