    Workcentre 7830 Toner status problem (all toners with exclamation point)

    Hello guys, we bave a few WC 7830 in the field, and three of them have the same problem with the toner status, in all four colors there are an exclamation point, and if i print a report the instalation date for each toner is : November 30th 1979.

    The machine works fine... The customer checks manually the toner status every few weeks or so. The toner is sold, not metered.

    Any ideas to solve the issue?

    Your toners are less than 10% anyway.

    Login to web interface and go to supplies alert. Change toner days to 0. Save and restart copier. No more exclamation point

      But in the "SUPPLIES" page in the web interface (you mean with the browser?) there's no "change life" button or similar.. I can only see tbe levels, but i can't change nothing (logged in as admin)

        My main problem are the correct levels, not the exclamation point.

          Are the supplies generic?

          Even if they refill original toner cartridge it will have this problem, if they are generic.

            No... Only OEM toner, also the PCU Units.

              NVM location 740-061 (CRUM mode) should be set to 0 (Xerox mode), but was reading 1 (3rd party mode).

              First remove the toner cartridge(s) with the problem and shake the cartridge(s). Ensure that auger on the end of toner cartridge turns freely.
              NVM location 740-061 is a READ ONLY NVM location. In order for it to be changed you need to change NVM 740-062 from 0 to 1 then Exit diagnostics. This will switch the device back to Xerox mode.


              Re-enter diagnostics and confirm 740-061 is equal to 0 and NOT 1 as previous.


              Re insert the cartridges.

              Exit diagnostics and check the affected toner cartridge status, the new cartridge should read 100%

              Older cartridges should read the correct % based on crum, after running at leas 100+ copies.

              If not, as the picture below, you will have to insert a NEW cartridge for the colour displaying the RED X since the CRUM on the existing cartridge has now been written to as 0% (in this case Yellow).
              To solve the situation completely you will also need to replace the 2 other colours displaying "!" triangle plus the K colour toner cartridge. Eliminating the Red X situation will get the machine running for a few pages only, until the machine says "replace toner" (red X)
