Xerox 7855 Software Firmware

xerox tech help please:
I recently inherited a 7855i old copier WITHOUT a hard disk. Trying to get it running for a non-profit i believe in, so i'm willing to put some tech time in it.
s/w 071.040.103.04401 is on the controller main board sticker

According to Xerox support website, its oldest software is at 072 and there is a newer one listed at 073
(Drivers & Downloads - WorkCentre 7830/7835/7845/7855 - Windows 95 - Xerox)
072.040.004.09100
073.010.075.34540

Do i need to ALTBOOT forceupgrade the exact same software version? if so, anyone has that version?

Can I use a good working formatted HDD?

You can use any working hdd.
075.xxx. is the latest software.
You can use any software version with forced altboot.

7855 showing only the above 073 software version, for the ALTBOOT procedure, Automatic or Manual?

Any hard drive and any version of suitable software. The main thing is to revive the machine, and the version can be updated via the web interface. Please note that Altboot requires full software

I need to format the HDD, Fat32 ok?

I have 2 DLM files in the software zip
scanner file patch
and main file
do I insert both files into the ALTBOOT folder?

In altboot folder only one dlm file with machine name.
