    Brother Machines Using TN-750 Toner

Is anyone out there having as much trouble with the fusers on these machines as I am? Some of the machines that use this fuser are the DCP-8110, HL-5440, MFC-8950, etc. The fuser part number is Brother LU9809001. The problem starts with blurry prints or prints with a smudge, specially on the bottom of horizontal lines. After that you start getting fuser jams. On some of these models it is cheaper to buy a new machine than to pay for parts and labor. I have an MFC-8950 at a customers office that is still under warranty and Brother has sent a tech to replace the fuser twice in the span of 10 months. (They would not send the fuser to me to replace because I am not an authorized Brother repair shop).

Do you guys think that upgrading the firmware level might help the problem? As some of you might know HP had/has an issue with firmware on the P4015 family of laser printers.

By the way, if somebody knows a good place to get this fusers at a good price please let me know. I have several machine that the customers gave me that need fusers. If I can't find a decent price the machines are going to the trash!

This is true, but I have older Brother machines in the field that the fusers have lasted a lot longer. I find that the series of machines that I listed on my original post have fusers that fail prematurely.

I did a Google search for the fuser and don't remember Amazon coming up. I will try searching on Amazon directly. Thanks!

Amazon has the upper and the lower rollers, very good price. Was ordering from Alibaba, but had to wait 1-1.5 months to get em, Amazon! two days(how they do it?) Free shipping to boot.(prime)

Hi Tech28, thanks for the heads up but I could only find the lower pressure roller for HL-5440 and not the upper heat roller. Do you have Amazon's item numbers/part numbers for both rollers?

Hello, looking into my records, the lower ribbed for that machine I did get at Amazon, upper one I got from Alibaba. Sorry for that miss info on the upper.

Good article in the Laser Printer Repair and Fax, Copier Service Articles, concerning the jamming and premature failure on these Brother fuser's.
